Personality: Kate tends to be stubborn, strong willed and rather independent as a rule. She’s a woman who was robbed of her normal life and thrown into a decades long fight for survival in just a matter of hours. By this point in the war, she’s been through a lot and seen a lot, but she hasn’t let it dampen her desire to survive.
She shares the burden of her husband’s destiny and position as leader of the resistance, struggling with the very real chance they could lose each other and with her desire to get more into the field and earn the respect of the other members of the Resistance. She does take John’s feelings into account, but still isn’t afraid to take matters into her own hands without his knowledge. She’s a woman who doesn’t like to let go of something once she’s got her mind set on it.
Kate is resourceful and quick thinking, able to get herself out of tight situations and think quickly to survive. Some of this manifested even before the war, when she thought she was being kidnapped and never stopped trying to find a way to save herself. However, living through the war heightened these abilities even moreso. She's often had to improvise given the state of Earth during the war, and she's able to make do in tough situations.
She’s well aware of what the time travelers have said, about herself and about John, but she still isn’t afraid to try and make her own destiny and do things her own way. She’s very protective of John and whoever she gets closed to. She can have a fierce temper and isn’t the kind of woman you want mad at you. But once she makes friends, she's a loyal one and a good one to have on your side.
Sometimes she is still affected by PTSD, as the things she saw and experienced don’t go away overnight. She still tends to be a little guarded around strangers because in her world, the future can so easily be changed even just by someone overhearing the wrong thing, though she’ll be a little friendlier once she gets to know them. She’s managed not to have a big problem with panic attacks, but sometimes she has nightmares.

Probably also has some smaller things in her pockets, like a pocket knife and some first aid things. She carries a handheld radio like most of the crew, but it won’t work here-it could be salvaged or reverse engineered though if the gods cooperate.
Abilities: She’s a skilled medic and doctor. Originally, she was a veterinarian, but she learned on the job to treat an array of human needs because there was no one else to do it in the war zone. She had to learn as she worked with the other medics and transfer her animal skills to humans. Kate is also skilled with firearms, both rifle and pistol, although she’s more used to the plasma weapons the future resistance uses than conventional guns. She’s resourceful and smart, able to think quickly and get out of tough situations. She’s able to improvise a lot of things because she’s been doing it so long already. She knows some hand to hand combat although she’s no expert. She has some mechanical skill as evidenced by her programming a Terminator to go back in time to protect John at one point.

Kate made her way along the street of the place she’d suddenly found herself in. Back home, she'd been in camp, with John the rest of the Resistance.Now she was picking herself up off the ground in a place that was totally strange to her. It looked like something out of ancient Rome or someplace, a Colosseum type place with seats around an open center. She took stock and was glad to realize she still had her plasma gun on her. There were other people with her, but she didn't recognize any of them. She didn't see John anywhere, either.
"John, come in...do you copy?" she called on the portable radio. "John, can you read me?" There was no reply, though. She wasn't sure the thing was even getting through to anywhere. She didn't have a lot of time to think about it, though, because of the creatures moving toward her and the others. Was this some kind of trick from Skynet? It didn't seem possible...it wasn't something Skynet seemed inclined to do. Still, she couldn't know for sure.
The monsters weren't any creatures that she had ever seen before, but they were huge. Kate reacted instinctively, just as she had far too many times with the Terminators. She leveled her gun and fired, causing the creature closest to her to scream and fall down. The thing definitely was alive, not a machine of any kind, considering the smell of burning flesh and the blood flying around. If that was the case, though, where the hell had she just woke up and how was she going to get back home?
Her background as John's second in command was kicking in and she was reacting more on autopilot than actually thinking very much. She glanced around, getting a better idea of what was around her as she fired at another of the things. It looked like there wasn't anything actually keeping the group in here. She didn't know if the monsters could follow, but getting out of here seemed like a good first step. And like so many times before, she didn't really think about trying to lead the others in the group and get them out as well.
"It looks like there's a way out!" she called out. "I think it's our best choice, if it isn't a trap. Let's start moving that way and see if we can find a safer place! I've never bee in this exact situation, but i'm used to fighting...and being a leader. Hopefully I can get us out of here intact."
